GradConnection Sports Tournament sponsorship

midst the hectic-ness of the recruitment round and increasing numbers of grad jobs and internships on GradConnection, we would like to announce that we are the proud sponsors of the University of Auckland Engineering School Eagles in the 2012 Interfaculty Sports Tournament!
With engineering being the second largest employer industry on GradConnection’s website, it seemed fitting that we partner up with the University of Auckland engineering school for this tournament.
At this moment alone there are open applications for engineering jobs at OneSteel, Fonterra, Aecom, Aurecon, Orica and Westpac to name but a few - to view all jobs click here.
Since its inception in 2009, and following on from the success and high levels of staff and student involvement throughout the last couple of years, the tournament has expanded to include 9 of Auckland University’s faculties competing in 7 types of sports.
Students participate in Cricket, doubles badminton, touch rugby, volleyball, men’s and women’s basketball, netball and rugby in pursuit of the trophy and medals (but also some relentless fun). Participation in the competition is free of charge for Auckland University students, who are also provided with free transport to and from the games, uniforms and entertainment!
The GradConnection team will also be present at the engineering school games – we’ll be the ones jumping next to our green banners whilst screaming our supportive heads off.
We’re looking to spoil the engineers with one or two barbecues at the games and a potential special guest practice sessions for the rugby boys… We will also be bringing you some interviews from the engineering school sports team captains in the next couple of weeks so be on the lookout for these.
If for some reason you aren’t already involved in this event, we will turn a blind eye while you register your interest with student reps here.
Other than that, we wish your team some much needed luck because we are oh-so-confident the engineering school will be doing some serious damage to the scoreboards this year.
We’ll be seeing you there!
P.S. We heard the engineering cricket team killed the last couple of games - look forward to hearing the same for the final this Sunday at Colin Maiden Park!
